Hunts

At Saddletramp Outfitters we offer two different hunting opportunties:

Drop Camps and Full Service Guided Hunts

Simply stated, the differences between our Drop Camps and Full Service Guided Hunts, are only in the amount of services provided for the client. With the prices associated with hunting today, Drop Camps simply offer a more affordable way, as well as more historic way, to enjoy a tremendous Colorado hunt. Whether you choose a Drop Camp or a Full Service Guided Hunt, you will be hunting within the same areas of the White River National Forest.

On our Full Service Guided Hunts, the hunter to guide ratio is 2 to 1. We provide everything except licenses, sleeping bags, and personal gear. We field dress, skin, quarter, and pack the game back to camp, and on to the local processor or taxidermist if need be.  The cost of any processing or taxidermy is the responsibility of the hunter.

On our Drop Camps, no guide is provided. Drop Camps are set up for 4-6 hunters. We will pack the hunters, and all their gear to camp. After familiarizing the hunters with the area, the guides or wranglers will take the horses back to the ranch. Drop Camps will then be checked on at a minimum of every two days. The hunters must furnish their own licenses, provide their own food, as well as do their own cooking. The hunters must field dress their own game, and quarter the carcass, and have it in an area accessible to horses, where we will then pack it down the mountain.
